Made to order means your bijou is crafted specifically for you after your order is placed. Each piece is not pre-made or held in stock. Please allow 2-3 weeks for your order to be ready before shipping. As each bijou is made to order, we are unable to accept cancellations once an order has been placed.

Moissanite is a lab-created gemstone made of silicon carbide. It was first discovered in a meteor crater, making it genuinely rare in nature, which is why it's now grown in labs. It's one of the hardest stones on earth (9.25 on the Mohs scale), with exceptional brilliance and fire that makes it stunning for everyday wear.

They may look similar at first glance, but they're very different. Moissanite is significantly harder and more durable than CZ — it won't scratch, cloud, or lose its sparkle over time. CZ tends to dull and scratch within months of regular wear. Moissanite has more fire and brilliance, and holds its beauty for years. CZ is cheaper upfront, but moissanite is a long-term investment.

From June 2026, all new Bijou By Lisan collections are crafted on a sterling silver base with rhodium plating and an additional protective coating for extra durability. An upgrade we made because we want every bijou to truly last.

Rhodium plating is what gives our pieces their beautiful, bright white finish. Your bijou is more resistant to tarnish, scratches, and everyday wear than standard rhodium-plated jewellery.

Rhodium itself is one of the rarest and most valuable precious metals in the world, rarer than gold, which is why rhodium-plated jewellery is priced higher than regular silver. At Bijou By Lisan, we believe jewellery should be worth keeping. We'd rather you invest in one bijou that lasts than replace cheaper jewellery every few months.

To keep your bijou looking its best, avoid prolonged exposure to water, perfume, and harsh chemicals, and wipe gently with a soft cloth after each use.

Regular sterling silver tarnishes within weeks to months without careful maintenance. Our pieces use sterling silver as the base, finished with rhodium plating and an additional protective coating, giving you significantly better resistance to tarnish and wear. With proper care, your bijou will hold its finish far longer than standard silver jewellery.

Our pieces are rhodium-plated with an extra protective coating, which provides a strong barrier against tarnishing. However, prolonged exposure to water, sweat, perfume, and chemical products over time can wear down the plating. Follow our jewellery care guide to keep your bijou looking its best.

We recommend removing your bijou before showering, swimming, or exercising. Prolonged exposure to water, chlorine, and salt can break down the plating faster and dull the finish over time.

Yes. Rhodium plating is hypoallergenic and nickel-free, making it suitable for most sensitive skin types.

We provide a complimentary 3-month warranty from the date of receipt. This covers manufacturing defects. Normal wear and tear, damage from improper care, or accidental damage is not covered.
